Yesterday got pretty exciting when I received the latest issue of Seattle Met Bride & Groom Magazine and saw my bouquet on the cover! Surprised and thrilled!! The editorial (‘Lights! Camera! Blooms!’ p. 88) was shot back in May on a gorgeously summery day, and that came through in the vibrant, sunny photos. Four florists were asked to create bouquets that included some “show-stopper” element. For my design, I created a sunset-toned palette with mostly peonies, a few tangerine geums, and then added a velvety, midnight-purple iris. The contrast was dramatic and unexpected, but (I think) really beautiful. It’s always fun to be asked to participate in a project where there is freedom to get creative. To have the results pictured on the cover is a dream! Check out the Summer/Fall 2013 issue, on sale now. As always, it is packed with gorgeous inspiration!!
