I generally try not to get caught up in trends, but when it’s something like these gorgeous dahlias, I don’t mind jumping on the bandwagon. Dahlia ‘Café au Lait’ has been one of the wedding flowers for the last few years, and it may be a while before anyone gets tired of them. Their color ranges from a true creamy coffee to a peach that can only be called delicious. Sometimes they are shaded with a rosy pink, almost purple blush. My favorites come from Jello Mold Farm, where they grow them organically right here in Western Washington. This year’s crop has gotten even more abundant as the fall weather sets in. Here are a couple of bouquets and a centerpiece I made with “cafés” recently.
