National Tropical Botanical Garden

I recently stayed on the beautiful island of Kaua`i in Hawai`i, and one of the highlights for me was visiting the National Tropical Botanical Garden. This garden actually comprises four separate gardens, three on Kaua`i and one in Florida. Among the important works this organization does are saving native Hawaiian plant species, rescuing rare and endangered orchid species, preserving a world seed bank, and propagating other important plants. The gardens are large and beautiful, and definitely worth a visit! Here are some of my photos from the McBryde and Allerton Gardens. The first photo is of Hibiscus waimeae, which is native only on Kaua`i.
